The Armenia-India Business Council (AIBC) continues to actively foster economic collaboration between Armenia and India. As part of this ongoing commitment, Mr. Karen Mkrtchyan, Executive Director of AIBC, participated in the ET NOW Global Business Summit 2025, held in New Delhi on February 15-16.
The annual summit is a premier platform that brings together global policymakers, business leaders, industry experts, and innovators to discuss emerging economic trends and explore strategic opportunities for international collaboration. With a focus on global trade, investment, and market expansion, this event serves as a crucial meeting point for businesses looking to engage in cross-border partnerships.
One of the highlights of this year’s summit was the participation and address of Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, who highlighted India’s rapid economic ascent, emphasizing its rise to the top five global economies and its imminent position as the third-largest. He credited this to bold reforms in infrastructure, financial inclusion, and governance, including replacing colonial-era penal codes, expediting judicial processes, and unlocking ₹100 lakh crore in rural property value through the Swamitva Yojana.
The Indian PM further underscored the private sector’s growing role in key industries such as space, energy, and nuclear power, alongside reduced regulatory burdens through Jan Vishwas 2.0. Banking reforms were also a key focus, with increased financial inclusion and record public sector bank profits. Stressing governance as performance-driven, he asserted that India’s future as a global leader is built on trust, proactive policies, and a growing middle class empowered by financial and economic reforms.
Mr. Mkrtchyan actively engaged in discussions centered on strengthening trade and investment relations between Armenia and India. He connected with influential leaders from diverse sectors, including finance, technology, manufacturing, infrastructure, and trade, to explore avenues for future collaboration.
During the summit, he signed an MOU on behalf of AIBC with the Indian Chamber of International Business to explore avenues of jointly advancing bilateral trade, investment and collaborations.
Moreover, he held discussions with the representatives of Times Group ET Now, the organizers of the event, to ensure larger participation of Armenian companies in future events and to open doors for new opportunities for businesses in both countries.
The participation of AIBC in such a high-profile event underscores our commitment to fostering deeper economic partnerships and supporting Armenian and Indian businesses in exploring new opportunities. By leveraging the insights and connections gained at the ET NOW Global Business Summit, AIBC aims to bridge the gap between the two economies and create a more conducive environment for trade and investment.
As we move forward, we will continue to identify and promote opportunities that bring mutual benefits to businesses in Armenia and India. Our goal is to build a sustainable and thriving trade ecosystem that supports entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders from both nations.
